About ISAP

Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) is a non-government, non-profit organisation incorporated in 2001, under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act. It is a network of agriculture and allied sector professionals in India and developing countries. It is a growing network encompassing over 15,000 registered associate members, comprising 1500 Agri-Experts, 525 Partner NGOs, over 824 Individual users and more than 1050 researchers.

Project SHARE, is an agri extension programme aimed at increasing the income of corn and cotton growers in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra through sustainable yield enhancement approach.

The OCP Agricultural Extension Services (AES) project is primarily aimed at improving the productivity of pigeon-pea in a select region of northern Karnataka through promotion of comprehensive soil health improvement program, nutrient management and crop cultivation techniques.

Project CCA
ISAP has started out series of Agriculture Knowledge Workshops (AKW) for Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs) in the country. First in this series, a one-day workshop was conducted by ISAP team for CCAs in Karnal on June 08, 2012.

ISAP is running this Program in 9 states under the aegis of MANAGE. This training is provided to unemployed agriculture and allied sector graduates.

Project SFAC
ISAP's NVI team has formed 254 Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) in Maharashtra and 256 FIGs in Rajasthan. For this project, ISAP is working in Pune and Nasik districts in Maharashtra and in Jaipur in Rajasthan, mobilizing 5120 farmers in Mah and more than 5000 farmers in Rajasthan.

Project KCC
A Kisan Call Center is run by ISAP under the aegis of the M.P. government in Bhopal. The Call Center was inaugurated by State Agriculture Minister Sh Gopal Bhargav ji on September 2, 2008. Queries of farmers across the state are responded to by agriculture experts during 7 am to 7 pm daily. This KCC is working 7 days a week.

Project CRS
ISAP has set up first Community Radio Station (CRS) for farmers at Sironj, District Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh). Sironj is located about 120 km North of Bhopal, the Capital of Central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh. ISAP started its development initiatives in this region with farm-extension activities. While working at grass-root level with farmers of this region, ISAP realized the increasing need of effective ICT medium to bridge the huge information gap.
