Title - Sustainability of Upper Kolab Irrigation Project and Upper Indravati Irrigation Project
Client: Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
Project
The main focus of the project is to:
- Increase villagers' livelihood options through diversification and better productivity, accessibility and management of available resources
- Foster participatory evaluation and development of market linkages
- Empower resource users for decision-making, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
Action Plan
The two broad action areas of the Micro Plan are:
- Intervention at community level to enhance community participation and increase welfare
- Intervention at SHG level to enhance incomes and/ or reduce expenditure through micro credit facilitation.
Title - Market Mapping and development of micro-credit mechanism for Rengali Irrigation Project Area (Ongoing project)

Project Scope

- Title - Feasibility study on Herbal and Medicinal plants in Uttaranchal
Client: Mahila Haat
The Project Mahilaa Haat, a national level NGO is engaged in social and economic upliftment of marginalized rural women in Kumaon divisions of Uttaranchal.
Objective The main objective of the study is to:
· Explore the profitability of cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plant
· Growth in incomes of women through cultivation of the medicinal and aromatic plants over next 5 years.
Title: Base Line survey for Lifeline projects
Client: One World South Asia
Project Objectives To gain insights into rural communities' perception about the services being provided through voice-based connectivity, One World South Asia carried out a baseline survey and partnered with TARAhaat, Drishtee and Indian Society for Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) for this.
Title - Data Basing and Creation of Agricultural Scientists and Experts to solve farm level problems
Client - Department of Science & Technology, GOI, for the implementation period of Jan., 2004 to Dec, 2004.
Partners - Bharatiya Cattle Resource Development Foundation (B.C.R.D.F.) in partnership with Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) under the grant-in-aid programme
Objectives
The main objective of the project:
· A creation of database of the agricultural experts in the country.
· Using the Information & Communication Technology to network the information seekers and information providers in the agricultural sector
· To provide an interactive platform in which knowledge experts and knowledge seekers can freely interact and help each other.
· To help all redefine the agriculture system in the country.
Project Title - Microsoft Unlimited Potential
Coverage To be implemented in Maharashtra to take computer education to rural mass.
Supporting Agency - Microsoft
Objective To make the rural community familiar with the latest technology revolution and also make them part of the Information Technology drive that is going on in India. The ultimate outcome is to bridge the rural-urban divide.
Methodology
To undertake training session for rural students, rural agri-youths and practicing farmers over a period of three years at the existing info-centres operating in the districts of Maharashtra. The project targets to benefit 60,000 persons through this project during the stipulated period.
Training Personnel: Regional supporting staff and state trained computer professionals will be engaged for providing training. Microsoft personnel will be engaged for training of trainers.
The dynamism of rural sector and the dominance of agri-activities in it, provides ample space for role-playing by ISAP. Given the range of exposure of ISAP and the networking strength with major stakeholders, the future holds immense potential and promises for ISAP. The organization endeavors to fulfill them with due support from its partners.

Future Road Map
Query Redress Service
To spread the reach of the Query Redress Service, ISAP is collaborating with:
· Hewlett Packard : HP runs a kiosk in Kuppam district of Andhra Pradesh. ISAP is in the process of entering into an agreement to use the existing infrastructure for query related services.
· Tied up with translator to answer the queries of the farmers from different regions in their local languages.
Rural Relations: Rural Relations provides computers to youth in the villages of Maharashtra for setting up micro-enterprises. ISAP is trying to provide computers to other states as well.
ISAP intends to work towards its specific goals by further emphasizing on the following activities components :
· Expanding NGO/agri-expert base to play a stronger supporting role to agri-community.
· Ensuring capacity building of supportive staff by organising quarterly workshops to ensure more effective role-playing. Such interactive meet will be utilized also for setting targets in each of the areas of activities and also for performance review.
· To further strengthen the Research & Analysis using to undertake need - assessment studies in social & developmental sector in all region of the country.
· To extend QRS services with corporate support.
To promote the programme activities and strengthen the same, ISAP has chalked out various strategies:
· To intensify the membership drive, ISAP is participating in all the workshops and seminars relating to NGOs and other development sector,
· Planning to organize training/capacity building programmes for NGOs. In this endeavour State Bank of India Institute has supported it for Rural Development, Hyderbad and National Institute for Agriculture Management, Jaipur
Training of Agri Entrepreneurs :
ISAP's contribution in field of training and capacity building has been well recognized by different government and non-government organizations. The Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, MANAGE, an organisation under the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, in principle agreed for involving ISAP in some areas while implementation of Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres Scheme, and in particular, the following tasks:
- Test module for checking motivation level of Agri-Clinic applicants for pilot testing - ISAP is requested to prepare the test module, present to MANAGE and on approval the tool will be tested with at least two organizations on pilot basis by ISAP. Based on the experiences, suitable modification will be done by ISAP and will be circulated to all the training organizations for adoption.
- Revision of curriculum under Agri-Clinic Scheme - ISAP is requested to go through the present module in consultation with MANAGE and at least one training centre and suggest modifications. On approval by MANAGE, same would be tried in at least two training centres for one batch each. Based on the experiences, suitable modifications will be done in the curriculum by ISAP and MANAGE will circulate the final version for adoption to all the training
centres.
- Revision in criteria for selection/short listing of nodal training institutes - ISAP may come out with the criteria, will be finalized in consultation with MANAGES.
- Designating ISAP as one of the Nodal Training Institutes - MANAGE has already agreed and communicated the same to Ministry of Agriculture.
CCA Programme :
Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals is working with Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India on Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) Program. This program will be an open and voluntary program that will enroll agricultural graduates in a continuing education program so as to impart professionalism to provide guidance to the producers on the issues of crop production, crop protection and natural resource management. The continuous education program of CCA will provide learning opportunities for crop advisors to improve their knowledge and skills as crop advisors. Crop Advisers combine their knowledge in these disciplines as well as their local experience to provide sound recommendations to their clients so as to make agriculture a viable and profitable economic proposition.
Agricultural Extension :
Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals in collaboration with its local based member social organizations / institutions is organizing farmers' awareness campaign in different parts of the country by rendering extension service to the farmers with the help of governmental extension agencies and at the same time provide a forum for market linkage to the farmers and also SHGs for getting a better price for their produce and there by enhancing their income and earning capacity.
Market linkage :
Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals is organizing need based buyer sellers meet and conference for different agricultural commodities as part of market linkage activity. The main objective is to bring buyers and sellers at same platform and there by exploring the national and international agricultural markets. Besides display of agricultural commodities through exhibitions the conference aspect covers all the latest market related interventions and provides need-based solutions to farmers through direct contact with experts.
